grants and funding opportunities compiled by 2001 Design Direction Class:
Lyn
Blumenthal Memorial Fund for Independent Video Grants
Grants are made to individuals and collectives involved in video production. The fund seeks work that aims to test the limits of technology; extend the language of personal expression; question aesthetic conventions; explore complex issues of gender, sexuality, and cultural identity; and/or challenge the prevailing social system. The fund encourages projects that make inventive use of newly evolving and/or small-format media technologies with low budgets of $6000 or less.
Requirements: The project's final form must be videotape. Grants must be applied to production and post production costs only, and projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving the award.
Amount of Grant: $1000 - $3000
Date application is due: March 14th.
